Privacy Policy

The Lesson Plan (thelessonplan.com.au) is operated by Ikigai Technology (ABN [ABN]). This policy explains what information we handle and why. Privacy enquiries: [PRIVACY CONTACT EMAIL].

• Account information — the email address you register with, and authentication data (password credentials are stored by our authentication provider, not by us in plain text).
• Lesson inputs — the subject, year level, syllabus outcome, content points, learning intentions, success criteria, vocabulary, activities and any free-text you enter into planning fields.
• Generated content — lesson plans, sequences, worksheets, booklets, slide decks, assessments and teacher guides created for your account, together with any edits you save.
• Usage information — records of AI generation events used to apply plan limits, plus standard technical logs generated when the application runs.
• Subscription information — your plan, subscription status, billing period and the customer/subscription identifiers issued by our payment processor. We do not store your full card number.

We do not currently run advertising or third-party analytics tracking. Cookies and browser storage are used only for signing you in and keeping your session.

To provide the Service (generating and saving your teaching resources), to authenticate you, to apply subscription entitlements and usage limits, to process payments, to provide support, to secure the platform, and to meet legal obligations.

When you generate a resource, the relevant lesson inputs and syllabus context are sent to third-party AI model providers via our AI gateway so that a response can be produced. Because of this, information you type into planning fields leaves our database and is processed by those providers under their terms. Do not enter information you would not want processed in this way.

• Hosting, database, storage and authentication infrastructure providers.
• Our AI gateway and the underlying AI model providers.
• Stripe, for payment processing and subscription management.

These providers may store or process information outside Australia, including in the United States and other countries. We cannot represent that your data is stored exclusively in Australia.

You do not need to enter personally identifiable student information to create lessons and resources, and you should not do so. Please avoid entering student names, contact details, health, disability, behavioural or other sensitive information into planning fields. The Service is not designed or approved as a system of record for student data.

Access to your lessons and resources is restricted to your authenticated account using row-level database security. Data is transmitted over encrypted connections. No system is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.

We keep your account, lesson content and usage records for as long as your account is active, and afterwards only as long as needed for legal, tax or dispute-resolution purposes. Billing records are retained for the period required by Australian law.

You may request access to, correction of, or deletion of your personal information, and you may request deletion of your account, by contacting [PRIVACY CONTACT EMAIL]. If you are unhappy with our response you may complain to the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner.

We may update this policy. The "last updated" date will change, and we will notify account holders of material changes.
